Our 2023-2025 Africa Troopy restoration and expedition project is wrapping up so our Hero Land Cruiser is now for sale.
This is a complete overland tourer built for long distance Africa expeditions. There is nothing more needs doing. This vehicle can be registered in the name of a non-resident who wants to use it for Africa expeditions.

Toyota VDJ78 Troop Carrier, first registered 2013. Odo 522 000 kms.
Full body and mechanical restoration began in 2023 @ 498 000 kms.
Originally had 6-cyl 1HZ engine changed in 2025 to a newly rebuilt Toyota’s 4.2 HD-FTE multi-valve, factory turbo-charged engine. This engine has completed 4000 kms of its running in period.
Full-time 4WD with H151, 5-spd manual gearbox with locking centre differential.

Restoration
The restoration of engine, transmission and body is thorough and in-depth. Not even the seats are original.
Full and complete ground up engine upgrade to Toyota HD-FTE 4,2 turbo-diesel.
New turbo, injectors, intercooler, water pump, alternator, universals, alternator, speakers, most rubber seals, springs, shocks and more. (Details available from Snyman 4×4)
A full body panel overhaul and respray inside and out – Toyota Cadet Blue.
Full body restoration in and out. Virtually no corrosion was found on chassis or body. A full under-body and chassis rust protection spray was applied in 2024.
Overhauled: Gearbox, front and rear diffs, front and rear prop-shafts, door cards, new steering wheel, entertainment unit, speakers and more.
